About the Guide:
Bill Hoffman
Bill has been fly fishing for over 20 years. He has fished the Roaring Fork and
Frying Pan Rivers in Colorado, DePuy's Spring Creek, Nelson's Spring Creek,
Armstrong's Spring Creek and the Yellowstone River in Montana. Along with
fishing these western rivers, Bill has fished the Willowemoc, Beaver Kill and
Salmon River in New York. While in college, Bill lived in Pennsylvania for 4 years
where he fished many of the spring creeks across the state. Spring creek
techniques are by far some of the most technical fishing on a fly rod, and through
guiding, writing, seminars and casting lessons he hopes to teach others from his
experiences in how to catch fish anywhere.
In addition to the challenges of trout fishing, Bill has also become an
accomplished saltwater fly fisherman. In pursuit from the shore, Bill has become
familiar with the waters around New Jersey in fishing for Striped Bass and
Bluefish as well as False Albacore. In addition to the species found in the
northeast, Bill has also fished extensively for redfish, tarpon, snook and tarpon in
Florida and Mexico. As salt water fly fishing has its own challenges, Bill hopes to
help people where possible in learning how to read the water, fly selection and
casting in order to maximizes the chance of catching the fish of a lifetime on a fly
rod.
